Fare Structure Changes

• Boarding Fare - $1.75 ($.75 reduced fare with proper ID)

• No zones or zone charges

• Systemwide Day Pass - $4 ($2 reduced fare with proper ID)

• Systemwide Monthly Pass - $64 ($32 reduced fare with proper ID)

• Bus-to-bus transfers now require proof-of-payment or boarding fare each time you board a bus. You can no longer transfer for 35 cents.

• Taking more than two buses – A Day Pass or Monthly Pass are great choices.

• No charge for bus-to-rail and rail-to-bus connections, but proof-of-payment is required. New Proof-of-Payment tickets are available from bus operators and are valid for continuing your trip on Metro Rail and #8 Main only. One way Metro Rail tickets are still valid for rail-to-bus connections.

• Tokens will not be sold, but will continue to be accepted through August 2013.

• 30-Day Passes and Weekend Passes are discontinued.

• Credit or debit cards no longer accepted at Metro ticket vending machines.

• Paratransit fares remain at twice regular fares and paratransit eligible riders can travel free on all Metro fixed route service.

• Systemwide PAL passes will be $29 for 10 trips and $58 for 20 trips.

Fair Service Metro Rail to Alter Service on Thursday Nights

Metro Rail service will be suspended on Thursday evenings starting June 10.

In anticipation of large crowds attending the popular Thursday at the Square concerts June 10 through August 12, Metro Rail service will be suspended in the immediate area of the concerts inbound between Lafayette Station and Church Street Station and outbound between Church Street Station and Fountain Plaza Station from approximately 7 to 9 p.m. on each of the 10 dates.

Metro will provide free shuttle bus service for its customers between Main Street at Church Street (Church Street Station) and Main Street at Chippewa Street (Fountain Plaza Station) where customers will be able to make a rail connection in each direction.

Regular rail service will operate between Erie Canal Harbor Station and Church Street Station and between Lafayette Station and University Station during the suspended periods.

Route 40 Reroute

Metro will reroute inbound Route 40 buses between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. dues to construction on the south Grand Island bridges. Buses will use the Whitehaven Road entrance to the Thruway

Medicare Health Card holders
