Metro's Summer Youth Pass Goes on Sale

Buffalo, NY... A sure sign of summer is when Metro's popular Summer Youth Passes go on sale. For $52.50, the Metro bus and rail pass provides youths 17 yrs. and under with unlimited rides on Metro all summer long.
The pass can literally pay for itself as Metro has teamed up with 14 regional businesses that are offering pass holders discounts on products and services throughout the summer. Discounts range from Buy one Personal Pan Pizza and get one FREE at Pizza Hut, to admission discounts at The Aquarium of Niagara, Martin's Fantasy Island, Buffalo Zoo, Buffalo Bisons and Body Worlds at the Buffalo Museum of Science. To receive discounts, a SYP card must be presented at the time of purchase.
Passes go on sale Thursday, June 18 at participating Tops Friendly Markets, Dash's, Budwey's, Parkside Pharmacy and Wilson Farm stores. Passes are valid from June 26 through Sept. 9 and are non transferable.
Lawrence M. Meckler, NFTA executive director said, "The Summer Youth Pass is a win-win situation for everyone involved. For parents, it's a gas saver and a convenient, reliable way for their kids to get to work and entertainment venues. The youths receive the additional benefit of summer-long discounts provided by the participating sponsors."
In addition, Adventure Landing, Adventure Speedway, AMF Bowling Centers of WNY, KFC, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Record Theater, and Fantastic Sam's are all participating with special discount offers for SYP holders.
