Bailey Avenue Bus Rapid Transit

Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), along with partners like the City of Buffalo, are building on prior studies to take the next steps to plan, design, construct, and implement BRT (bus rapid transit) on Bailey Avenue, along with other infrastructure improvements.
Where
The Bailey Ave BRT project runs along Bailey Avenue for 7.5 miles from South Park Avenue to Main Street (University Station).
What
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems deliver faster, high-quality, more reliable, safe, and cost-effective bus services and typically involve installation of:
- Dedicated bus lanes
- Off-board fare collection/level-boarding
- Bus priority at intersections
- More frequent reliable buses
Bailey Avenue BRT features will be defined through the planning process.
