Battery Electric Buses

NFTA-Metro is transitioning 40-foot transit buses from clean diesel and diesel-electric to battery electric. A power substation has been constructed at the Cold Spring bus garage and the first orders of battery electric buses have arrived.

Adoption of battery electric buses first requires electric vehicle charging infrastructure for fueling and maintenance of battery electric vehicles, and the grid to support the power draw.
