Must be at least 20 years old at the time of the examination; must be a minimum of 21 years old at time of appointment.
High school diploma or equivalent; or an Honorable Discharge from the United States military following at least 2 years active military service, 6 years Reserves or US National Guard service; or successful completion of a Certified Police Officer Training Course approved by, or equivalent to a course approved by the NYS Municipal Police Training Council. NYS Peace Officer certification does not qualify for this exception.
TAPD operates in Erie, Niagara, and Genesee Counties.
12-hour shifts (7:00AM-7:00PM and 7:00PM-7:00AM), with overtime opportunities available.
At time of appointment, candidates must reside in any surrounding county that touches Erie, Niagara, or Genesee counties.
