BUFFALO, N.Y.- The International Aviation Snow Symposium (SnoPo) is set to return to Buffalo from April 24–29, bringing together airport snow and ice control professionals from around the world. Hosted at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, the weeklong event will highlight the critical role of winter operations teams in ensuring aviation safety and efficiency during severe weather conditions. One of the most popular and visually striking highlights is the Snow Plow Rodeo, which will be held on Wednesday, April 29, at the Buffalo Airport.

With a longstanding reputation as the premier gathering in the field, the symposium will offer a comprehensive program of events designed to educate, recognize, and engage industry professionals at all levels.

Key highlights include:

  • Snow Academy Workshops: Conducted during pre-conference registration, these hands-on sessions will explore the latest techniques, tools, and technologies in airport snow and ice management. Workshops will cater to both foundational learning and advanced operational strategies.
  • Operator of the Year Award: One of the symposium’s most anticipated honors, this award recognizes exceptional performance and dedication in snow and ice removal operations, celebrating individuals who demonstrate excellence in their field.
  • Balchen Post Award: This distinguished recognition is presented to individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to winter operations, emphasizing innovation, leadership, and long-term impact.
  • Snowplow Rodeo: Concluding the week’s events, this dynamic competition showcases the skill and precision of snowplow operators as they navigate challenging obstacle courses. Participants will compete for top honors and industry bragging rights.
