NFTA Unveils New Pride Bus Celebrating Inclusion and Community

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) launched its newly designed Pride Bus on Thursday, a vibrant addition to its fleet featuring a mosaic of rainbow colored tiles.

BUFFALO, N.Y.  — The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA)  launched its newly designed Pride Bus on Thursday, a vibrant addition to its fleet featuring a mosaic of rainbow colored tiles.

The unveiling brought together NFTA leadership, employees, and community members to celebrate inclusion and recognize the importance of representation. Attendees also reflected on the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement, including the Stonewall uprising and the origins of Pride Month.

“Public transportation connects people from all walks of life, and this Pride Bus reflects our commitment to ensuring everyone feels seen, valued, and welcomed,” said NFTA Executive Director Kim Minkel.

The celebration also included a Pride flag raising ceremony highlighting the NFTA's ongoing dedication to fostering a culture of respect and belonging. The Pride Bus is one of many initiatives that show the NFTA's commitment to embracing different perspectives, supporting its workforce, and building strong relationships with the community it serves. The bus will travel routes across Erie and Niagara counties, serving as a visible symbol of unity and encouragement for residents and visitors.
