Construction of Runway 5-23 Complete at BUF
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority is pleased to announce the completion of major renovations on Runway 5-23 at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, which has officially reopened for air traffic.

Construction involved comprehensive upgrades to the runway’s surface, lighting, and navigational aids, enhancing safety and operational resilience to support the increasing demands of both commercial and general aviation.
