On May 11, 2014 the NFTA closed on the Outer Harbor property which included The Boat Harbor, Gallagher Beach and the vacant parcel north of the Bell Slip. This completed the transfer of ownership to The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. and on November 15th, 2014 operations were transferred to New York State Parks Department.

The NFTA's portfolio currently has more than fourteen (14) miles of Railroad right-of-way properties available for Lease, which contain over 80 separate pipe, cable, fiber optic, and ground leases with plenty of room to add more.
As Director of Consumer and Government Affairs, Chris Fahey is responsible for implementing NFTA’s consumer and government affairs policies. He oversees both government relations and customer service, and serves as the Authority’s connection to legislative bodies and NFTA customers. Mr. Fahey has more than 20 years of diverse experience in government on the local, state, and federal levels. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Dickinson College and an M.A. in Political Science from University at Buffalo.
